Christian Nodal - Ahora (2019)

Ever since his 2017 song “Adiós Amor” broke out in a big way both in the US and in Mexico, Christian Nodal has simply soared. An all but unstoppable force on the Latin charts since its release that same year, his full-length debut Me Dejé Llevar injected youthful yet purposeful vigor into mariachi and ranchera. With early hits like “Probablemente" still simmering, the emotive Sonora native returns with a sophomore effort equally as appealing. As indicated by hooky singles “Nada Nuevo” and “No Te Contaron Mal,” Ahora puts the 20-year-old back through the proverbial ringer of relationships and romances. With an almost ageless earnestness, he sings knowingly of its torments on “Por Orgullo” and “El Dolor Con el Licor.”
