Kid Creole & The Coconuts is one of the hardest working American live touring bands ever, led by the indomitable and never duplicated showman and vocalist extraordinaire, August Darnell. His music has many energetic styles melded together, mainly a mix of Latin American, South American, Caribbean, Trinidadian, Calloway styles and disco/dance music. There are many jazz, big band, and swing era influences as well. 'The Coconuts' are a group of usually 3 female backing vocalists and dancers who complement the live show. This is a great melodic and musical release, full of intense energy and swing.
