Clara Sanabras - Fugue to the Floating World (2019) [Hi-Res]

'Fugue to the Floating World' is a meditation on humanity's unquenchable thirst for escapism, from Anglo-Catalan singer and composer Clara Sanabras. A collection of confessional love songs, modern yet timeless, unique yet universal, it explores themes of the unconscious, pitting the urge to fly free against the need for solid ground beneath our feet.

Its cinematic soundscapes interweave with roots from the folk tradition; its lyric imagery, full of literary references takes us on a journey where spirituality and rationality stand face to face.

Fresh from her collaboration with Sir Ray Davies of The Kinks, in a reimagining of The Village Green Preservation Society, Clara Sanabras is a tireless creator of musical worlds. After her monumental rendition of the Shakespearean tale "A Hum About Mine Ears" commissioned by Chorus of Dissent and performed at The Barbican with Britten Sinfonia in 2016, she finds a more meditative space in which to write 'Fugue to the Floating World'. She has worked in collaboration with artists and writers such as James Horner, Simon Schama, Nigel Kennedy, Howard Shore, and performed in concert halls & stadiums all over the world from Glastonbury to the Royal Albert Hall.
