Catho. - Interim, Pt. 1 (2019)

The Chicago based vocalist Catho releases her debut EP Interim: Part I. The appetizer to her main course due out later this year. This EP cuts her pop sound with a sharp and twisted knife. With her catchy hooks and dream-like melodies, she integrates dense arrangements and futuristic soundscapes to bless her audience with a fully transcendent experience. The entirety of the Interim series; half meticulously crafted hip hop beats and half a jazz fusion live-band arrangements, are seamlessly blended across two projects using ethereal interludes, unifying electronic elements and lush harmonies. The project’s overall theme talks about uncovering truths within ourselves and the world around us. It describes the sometimes grueling periods of time in which we are uncertain about particular outcomes, and the uncomfortable, almost terrifying feeling that washes over us when we dive into the unknown. Interim was co-produced by Catho and Reuben Gingrich (The Main Squeeze) and features rapper and poet, Samy.Language from Chicago’s own duo Bonelang.
