Massimo Bubola - Segreti Trasparenti (2004) [SACD]

A powerful album on both musical and lyrics sides. Full of references coming from the literature up to the Bible. It all begins with La Sposa del Diavolo taken from an old harbour ballad: a story of a bricklayer's wife that leaves both husband and childs in order to escape with a sailor that eventually will be revealed as the Devil. Also in the album "Specialmente in Gennaio", a tex-mex flavoured ballad dedicated to three poets died in January: Luigi Tenco, Fabrizio De Andrè and Giorgio Gaber. Roger Mac Clure is a ballad on a little Irish criminal killed negli anni trenta by the Police. Tutto è legato, a song dedicated to the three sacrifices: two missed (Giuditta that kills Oloferne and Isacco with Abramo) and eventually the ultimate sacrifice: the one of Christ. There is also a song of reconciliation, that refers to a Medieval pilgrimage in Santiago de Compostela (Tornano i Santi)
