"... the dominant concept here is creating an utterly distinctive sound involving Micromoog synthesizer and electronic washes. Always a bold texturalist, Blake may have outdone himself this time."
- JazzTimes.com

Tenor sax player Michael Blake assembled a stellar quartet to record this album, featuring dexterous Vancouver keyboardist Chris Gestrin and internationally acclaimed drummer Dylan van der Schyff with the idiosyncratic JP Carter on trumpet and electronics. The three musicians Blake handpicked for this 2012 release have an intuitive connection from many years of playing in various bands and they take Blake’s music to unexpected places. One unusual aspect of this quartet is the fact that Gestrin plays both Rhodes and Micromoog bass.

“Chris is without a doubt a world-class artist and his Moog playing is exemplary. His independence on both keyboards is obvious, but how he engages both instruments in conversation is really amazing. He really makes it sound like we have another person playing bass.”
