Après son New_York Project remarqué par la presse en 2009, Raphaël Imbert renouvelle son inspiration dans la tradition afro-américaine et ses expériences personnelles fondées sur l'échange et son enracinement provençal. Au retour d'un mois d'explorations musicales dans le Dixieland, cet autre lieu primordial du jazz américain et des recherches sur les mécanismes de l'improvisation (projet Improtech), il s'est installé au Tracteur afin d'enregistrer en quartet la création de sa nouvelle suite : Usuite, témoignage de ce voyage dans le sud américain avec Joe Martin, Gerald Cleaver et Stephan Caracci au vibraphone.
