A l’occasion de la venue en France du légendaire Lalo Schifrin pour un double hommage à la Cinémathèque française et au Festival Cinéma et Musique de Film de La Baule, la collection Ecoutez le Cinéma publie la première anthologie à grande échelle reflétant le génie du compositeur argentin.
Au gré du programme, le coffret propose des standards (Mission: impossible, la version originale de Mannix, inédite en CD, Le Kid de Cincinnati, Dirty Harry), des enregistrements rares (Once a Thief), voire des albums de la période Verve, conçus comme des bandes originales imaginaires (Schifrin-Sade, le sublime Rock Requiem, dont c'est la première réédition).
Le coffret est complété par un live exceptionnel, celui du concert donné par Lalo Schifrin à Paris en 2007, lors du Festival Jules Verne.
