Torn Hawk returns to L.I.E.S. and flips everything on its head broadcasting live and direct from a New Jersey basement. That's right, you can't make this kind of stuff up and here its decidedly the time to take everything and smash it to pieces again. Back to basics and putting it all out there, jettisoning the friendly timbres but retaining a heroic scope, a twisted story with a predictably sad ending (?), “Time Is A Scam” offers 11 landmarks along the road to oblivion.

Archetypal Hawk tropes of guitar-spiked genre destruction and sad cop show melodies combine with classical nuance and the rhythm of abandoned cities to shape a soundtrack for personal or global apocalypse, which is also, in it’s totality, about the persistence of the will to connect, against all odds, even as the void presents itself in all it’s yawning, fang-ringed emptiness.
