Every tale has a twist… Silicone Soul take an unexpected left turn to sign the year out with their second label collection of 2018: 'Tales From Underground'. Ten tracks deep, it’s a new collection of recent Darkroom Dubs heat. Wrapping up another considered year of timeless late night house music, the duo look back over every Darkroom chapter this year and present it as a whole story. Right now, we kick off with this three track sampler and it starts with something brand new… Cannibal Ink and Rigopolar make their Darkroom debut with ‘A Thousand Years Before’, a track that sucks you straight into a hazy cosmic world with yearning faraway vocals and sudden textural flips. Pure alluring electronica; it nods to the days of Yoshitoshi and Morel, but pitched right down and beefed right up as today’s standards require. It’s joined by more outstanding pieces of work: Eduardo De La Calle’s ‘Breatharian’ remains a major dancefloor incendiary device. A layered excursion into the deepest footnotes of musical hypnosis, it precision balances measured steadiness with the trippiest tendrils... An intergalactic sensation that remains high right through to the final echo as the label bosses sign the sampler out with their immense remix of Dino Lenny’s ‘Chained To A Ladder’.
