Bob James - Restoration: The Best Of Bob James (2018)

An excellent overview of Bob’s entire work that include his Jazz Funk cuts, originally recorded for CTI, his 80’s Fusion material and his latter day Smooth Jazz work. The all-time classic Jazz Funk tune ‘Westchester Lady’ and ‘Nautilus’ are featured plus the cover of Roberta Flack’s ‘Feel Like Making Love’. The melodic ‘Angela (Theme From Taxi) and ‘Brighton By The Sea’ document his early Tappan Zee albums, whilst the oft requested ‘Maputo’ recorded with Dave Sanborn samples his late 80’s period. ‘Raise The Roof’, ‘Mind Games’ and ‘Joy Ride’ are joyful James’ tracks that showcase his ear for a fine melody.
