Rdv en fin d’année avec le pianiste Roberto Negro. S’il est né à Turin de parents italiens c’est à Kinshasa, au Zaïre, dans un milieu francophone, que Roberto Negro grandit et fait ses premières expériences musicales. Initié au piano dès l’âge de six ans ; il découvre à l’adolescence le rock de King Crimson, Pink Floyd ou encore Radiohead et découvre le jazz, à travers le piano lyrique et chantant de Michel Petrucciani. Il s’inscrit alors au département jazz du conservatoire de Chambéry, tombe sous le charme de Brad Mehldau et constitue progressivement son petit panthéon personnel : « Benoît Delbecq, Marc Copland, Bill Carrothers, Ethan Iverson, tous ces musiciens qui associent la recherche formelle à un vrai sens poétique. »
Assurément une date jazz immanquable.
