On the process of making and performing music, Helen Anahita Wilson in her own words: "I am guided by pleasure and by the sensation of sound. The felt sense of sound. Being synaesthetic, my senses are blended so I not only hear sound but I also see it and feel it. I feel vibrations inside my body and in the space around me. I resonate. When I play I ensure that the physical act itself is pleasurable and the sounds feel good in my body. I commune with sound and I hope to bring my audience into that communion with me when I play. There is a spiritual connection with sound. I like to build and sculpt sonic space. And I like to colour it, be it by flooding space with sound and resonance or just by hearing one tiny drop of the most delicate beauty being suspended. There are five golden rules that govern and guide all my work: Pleasure, Embodiment, Resonance, Personal Authenticity and Freedom.
