Danielle Licari was among the International Artists in Barclay Records Label catalog. There is an estimate of 15 to 20 million of albums sold worldwide, being Concerto pour une voix her biggest success. Danielle Licari started her career as a backstage singer, recording several songs with many French stars of the time such as Leo Ferre and Richard Anthony. In 1965 the producer Jacques Denjean invited Danielle Licari, Jackie Castan and Nadine Doukhan to form an original trio of european women (les seules chanteuses europeennes - as it appeared on the print on the LP) singing the purest tradition of African-American music. The group was called "Les Fizz" and they recorded two albums (1965 and 1966). This would be one of the first attempts to bring the tradition of African-American music to France (Besides Johnny Halliday and Monty). The group would vanish in 1967.
