Spectrum were one of the premier Australian progressive rock groups of the early 1970's. Milesago, their second album, released in early 1972, was an ambitious 2LP set, notable as the first Australian rock double album, and is still regarded as a landmark of Australian progressive music. The album was originally released on EMI’s Harvest Records imprint (home to artists such as Pink Floyd, Kevin Ayers, The Move and Deep Purple) – and you couldn’t find a more appropriate label for such spaced-out progressive psych. It is also notable for being the first Australian rock album to be recorded using the newly installed 16-track recorder at Armstrong's Studios in Melbourne, the first studio in the country to acquire one of these machines.
This remastered expanded edition issued by Aztec Records in 2008 also contains 7 bonus tracks which include two live performances from Sunbury 1972, 2 single edits, an excerpt from the Australian film Dalmas, rounded off with an advertisement for Camel cigarettes.
