Da pacem Domine, ZWV 167, which opens the third volume of Zelenka's Psalmi Vespertini is a World Premiere recording. Five of the eight Psalmi that follow are also World Premiere recordings. They add further to our knowledge of Zelenka's music, and his stature as one of the truly greatest of all Bohemian Baroque composers - notwithstanding his years working in Dresden.

Zelenka's Psalm settings are thought to date from the period 1725 -1728, and composed by him for Vespers services during the liturgical year and in particular Psalms for Saturday Vespers before the four Sundays of Advent and Saturday Vespers before Septuagesima. They are works that he catalogued in an Inventarium rerum Musicarum Ecclesiae servientium, noting his compositions for the Catholic Court Church of Dresden.

They are written for modest forces - strings, basson, oboe, theorbo, organ and choir. As before in this Nibiru series, the Zelenka experts, Ensemble Inegal and Prague Baroque Soloists are directed by Adam Viktora. Taking the solos are sopranos Lenka Cafourkova and Gabriela Eibenova, Pascal Bertin, alto, Virgil Hartinger, tenor and Marian Krejcik, bass. There are detailed programme notes by Janice Stockigt of the University of Melbourne and the sung texts in English.
