She sings in different projects all over the world, in different styles from traditional music to free improvisation.
As one of the most active figures of Istanbul free improvisation scene since 2009, she performs with many musicians from Turkey and abroad. She has three improvisation projects: Konjo, a trio with guitarist Şevket Akıncı, and drummer Orçun Baştürk; SO Duo with Orçun Baştürk, and Sert Sessizler/Harsh Consonants, a duo with cellist Anıl Eraslan. In her traditional music projects, she prefers mainly to focus on the music of different ethnicities from Turkey: 'Black Sea - Balkans Line' with Ayşenur Kolivar, Anıl Eraslan, Onur Şentürk, Orçun Baştürk and Mikail Yakut; ‘Songs Passing Through Istanbul’, a project that she leads with traditional music master Göksel Baktagir; ‘Les voix d’Istanbul’, a Strasbourg based trio with Anıl Eraslan and tarhu player Nicolas Beck; and ‘EO’, a basically Mediterranean modal-maqam music project that she has created with Spanish multi-instrumentalist Efren Lopez. Besides she works with guitarist Cenk Erdoğan arranging traditional music in their own style.
She sang in concerts and albums since 80’s, in various styles, and languages. She has participated in events like Istanbul Music Festival 2012 (as a special guest in the famous Catalan performance group La Fura Dels Baus’ spectacle for the 40th year of the festival), European Music Forum on Music, İsmet Sıral Creative Music Studio (ISCMS 2010, of which she was a music director as well), Ecofest (with Adam Rudolph’s GO Organic Orchestra), International Body Music Festival (in Istanbul 2012 and San Francisco 2013), Strasbourg Méditerranée 2011, Klangwelten European Capital 2010 events (with harpist/composer Rüdiger Oppermann), and IUCN World Concervation Congress (as a guest soloist of Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra), perfoming almost everywhere in Europe and in the US, Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Syria, Israel, Qatar as well.
She has a solo album ‘Issız-Solitude’, a voice-cello duo album with Anil Eraslan ‘Sert Sessizler-Harsh Consonants’; and with her previous groups she released two Balkan music albums ‘Ayde Mori’ and ‘Balkan Journey’, and ‘Klez-mez’. With her friends she composed music for the movie ‘Sonbahar-Autumn’ (dir. Özcan Alper, best film music award in Angers Film Festival, France).
She is a lecturer on ‘experimental improvisation’ at Bilgi University (2014-). She also travels making ‘Let’s Sing Together’ workshops on traditional songs. In another workshop project with Orçun Baştürk, they focuse on the transforming effect of listening and singing together. She is also an acclaimed translator of some books, like the famous Little Prince. She has a radio program in Açık Radyo, ‘Müziğin Başka Türlüsü - Another Kind of Music’ as well.
