The Joneses - The Joneses (1977) [Remastered 2011]

The first time I heard this on vinyl it came off very good. Mostly dance but has three very well crafted ballads. Years later it's now out on CD and it sounds really good. Hard to find info on the 'R&B' Joneses and I couldn't find a review with a microscope and a pair of tweezers. Nice Philly production. It's a sleeper. Well worth adding to your sound sack. (Dap/AJP)

A killer for the Joneses – probably their strongest album all the way through, thanks to some great production and arrangements by Bobby Eli! This one's got the group taking the fragile harmony style of their earlier records, and filtering it through the Philly powerhouse groove to create a stronger, more high-stepping sound. A good mix of uptempo groovers and a few mellower tracks, and titles include "Who Loves You", "In Love Again", "Groovin' On Ya" , "Music To My Ears", and "Rat Race".
